Sandeep K. Agrawal is a Professor and Program Director of the graduate programme in the School of Urban and Regional Planning at Ryerson University. He has been recently cross–appointed with the Ted Rogers School of Management to teach urban management and governance in the MBA program in Globalmanagement.

Dr. Agrawal is a well–published and premier scholar. He studies the transformative impact of immigration, ethnicity and religion on our urban landscapes and its effects on urban planning practice and policies. One of his recently completed articles (co–authored with Dr. Qadeer) is about faith–based ethnic communities in the GTA,which explores whether these communities are sites of spatial and social segregation or inclusion. Dr. Agrawal is also studying how immigrants fare in the Canadian labour market.

Dr. Agrawal contributes to the Ontario Metropolis Centre – CERIS as the Domain Leader of the Welcoming Communities domain. He also serves on the Toronto City Council's Committee of Adjustment. Dr. Agrawal regularly appears in both print and broadcast media.

Dr. Agrawal has interests in Urban design, Design review, ethnic enclaves, Impact of ethnicity and multiculturalism on planning policies, Planning decision–making in developing countries, application of Computers in Planning, Heritage Preservation, Immigration and Settlement
